Blue Jackets Lose Wisniewski With Broken Foot

The Columbus Blue Jackets are having a difficult time of it lately.
Jackets coach Todd Richards revealed Tuesday that defenseman James Wisniewski will be out for an extended period of time with a broken bone in his foot. The injury was sustained in Sunday's 1-0 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks. Wisniewski was visibly limping after the game and the Jackets recalled blueliner Cody Goloubef from AHL Springfield on Monday. "Cody's come up and he's done a good job. He'll have to fill in, and we trust that he can, based on his last experience here," said Richards.
There is no specific timetable for when the 29 year old will return from the injury, only that "he's going to be out over an extended period of time," according to Richards.
This injury is the latest in a string of setbacks for Wisniewski, who signed a mega $33 million, six-year deal in 2011. Earlier this month he was out eight games with a concussion sustained by a terrible slam against the end boards. Last year he received an eight game suspension in the preseason and has since missed 26 more games because of a broken ankle, concussions, and groin injury.
Without Wisniewski, the Jackets' prospects of getting to the playoff this season are limited and fading. He is third on the team in scoring with three goals, six assists, and averages 23:32 a night. He joins a list of wounded included Jack Johnson, Brandon Dubinsky, and Artem Anisimov.
Richards feels that there are more opportunities for other players to step up. "There's more ice time for guys here. Guys are going to be thrust into some different roles. We trust those guys. The forwards are going to have to do a good job in supporting those guys," Richards commented.

What Is Up With Kristen Stewart And Her Feet???

Please excuse us if we've told this tale before, but what the heck is up with Kristen Stewart and her feet?
She was the talk of the Oscars Sunday night when she hobbled around with crutches. What has this girl done to her feet again?
She arrived on the red carpet telling people that "I'm an idiot," (I think we might have figured that out on our own, thanks) and posed for pictures without the crutches. Stewart hobbled on stage to present with Daniel Radcliffe the Oscar for production design to Lincoln without her crutches but was seen leaving the Oscars with her walking aids.
Stewart's make-up artist, Beau Nelson, told People Magazine that his client "cut the ball of her foot, quite severely, on glass two days ago." He added that she was in "a little bit of pain" and they had to scramble to find appropriate flats for the actress to wear.
According to the Associated Press, Stewart hobbled (can't say ran!) into Anne Hathaway backstage before presenting.
"Please tell me you're going on the stage with those crutches," Hathaway reportedly said.
"Nope. I'm gonna hobble," said Stewart.
"Well, break a leg... Oops!" Hathaway joked, as Stewart added, "I just hope the wound doesn't open right now."
Presenting partner Radcliffe felt so bad for the Twilight actress that he "just wanted to pick her up, put her in my arms, and carry her on the stage." He however let her struggle to the microphone without assistance, joking, "I probably would have dropped her and opened her wounded again."
Here's our recommendation to Stewart: Put some proper shoes on! You obviously keep having these puncture wounds because you're walking around barefooted. Puncture wounds are not fun, and unless you're doing these things to get attention, learn from your injuries!

Shoes Important In Roman Times

New research presented last month at the annual meeting of the Archaeological Institute of America says that shoes being a fashion statement and sign of social status are not a new trends.
Back as early as the first century, children and infants living in Roman military bases around Europe wore shoes that showed their social status. These itsy-bitsy shoes, some small enough for infants, not only revealed  that their families were part of Roman military life, but that children were dressed to match their parents' place in the social hierarchy.
Study researcher Elizabeth Greene of the University of Western Ontario says, "The role of dress in expressing status was prominent even for children of the very youngest ages."
Just like children today have to have the latest in clothing, footwear, and accessories in order to be "cool" and "popular" so was it for Roman children. Ancient Roman children of well-to-do families wore more elaborate, decorated shoes than their common counterparts.
Over 4,000 shoes were found at Vindolanda, a Roman army fort in northern Britain that was occupied from the first to fourth centuries. In every time period of the fort's history children's shoes were found in domestic spaces, official military buildings, and rubbish heaps, Greene said. "We don't even have a period, not even Period 1, where we're free of children's shoes," she said.
Greene and her colleagues next traced what shoes were found where and found that the decoration of the shoe depended on the location they were found. In the barracks, for example, children's shoes were similar to the common boot of adult soldiers.
Wooden tablets were found at the site, and researchers now know that Flavius Cerialis, prefect of the Ninth Cohort of the Bavarians, lived in one of the houses around 100 A.D. It is likely that Flavius and his family had something to do with public life around the base, and supporting this idea an elaborate infant shoe was made in the same style as a high-status man's boot.
The shoe has iron studs on the sole, just like a man's shoe would have. The shoe is made of high quality materials, including leather for the upper sole cut into an intricate fishnet pattern. This would not only show off the workmanship of the item, but the colored socks underneath, another item ancient Romans used to denote status. Even as a baby, the infant would have been shown off at official events and parades.
Common shoes found at the base were less elaborate. Sixteen children's shoes with partially intact upper sections were found in the barracks, likely from 105 A.D. to 120 A.D. Many were the basic "fell boot" of the Roman army, a simple, high-ankle shoe without decoration. Other shoes found in the base had the Roman's version of Velcro- carbatina. These shoes were worn by men, women, and children and were easily laced and slipped on and off. They could also be accommodating for a growing child, tightened or loosened for the foot.
In the centurion's or officer's quarters, two carbatina shoes with more than the usual detailing were found, supporting the idea that high-ranking parents dressed their children in nicer shoes.
One shoe found in the barracks did not support this idea. The shoe has little leather, but has decorative triangular tabs and rosette patterns not typically found on a soldier's child's shoe.

Kelly Osbourne Has A Foot Accident In... The Restroom?

Now this is a new one for us.
Wednesday Kelly Osbourne sprained her ankle while avoiding falling into a public toilet. You're probably thinking, "Now what was she drinking?", but supposedly, her foot got stuck.
Osbourne explained via Twitter, "Got my shoe stuck in a bathroom drain. I was faced with spraining my ankle or eaten the toilet. Guess what I picked? I sprained the muscles in my ankle that go up the back of my knee, so it was the boot or crutches!"
The Fashion Police critic added, "With the drain right next to the toilet, and not screwed into the floor properly my heel went through it and got stuck! I just could not bear the thought of my face landing in a public toilet! However, I'm not questioning my decision due to the pain!"
Osbourne has a history of getting injured in weird and wacky places. In July 2012 she was struck in the head by a fellow Delta airlines passenger who was trying to recline her seat. In November 2011 she cracked her head open and kept passing out. In February 2011 she was advised to get foot surgery to correct problems exacerbated by her time on Dancing With the Stars. "They're going to break four bones in my feet and some ligaments. When I saw what was actually involved, I was like, 'No!' I'm putting it off until I become a cripple. There's no way I could do it," Osbourne said.
Wonder how her feet are feeling now...

Foot Massage To Relieve Cancer Symptoms?

A new study, published in the Oncology Nursing Forum, suggests that reflexology, a type of specialized foot massage, may relieve symptoms cancer patients experience. The study was led by Michigan State University's Gwen Wyatt, a professor in the College of Nursing.
This was the first large scale, randomized study of reflexology as a complement to cancer treatment. "It's always been assumed that it's a nice comfort measure, but to this point we really have not, in a rigorous way, documented the benefits. This is the first step toward moving a complementary therapy from fringe care to mainstream care," said Wyatt.
Reflexology is based on the knowledge that stimulating specific points in the feet can improve the function of corresponding organs, glands, and other parts of the body. "Reflexology comes out of the Chinese tradition and out of Egypt. In fact, it's shown in hieroglyphics. It's been around for a very long time," said Wyatt.
The study included 385 women undergoing chemotherapy or hormonal therapy for advanced-stage breast cancer that had spread beyond the breast. The women were broken into three groups: the first group received treatment by a certified reflexologist, the next group got a foot massage (placebo), and the last group received standard medical treatment and no reflexology.
Wyatt and her team talked with participants about their symptoms before beginning the study, and checked in with them at weeks 5 and 11.
Results in the reflexology group included less shortness of breath, and because of that, they were better able to climb stairs, get dressed, or go grocery shopping.
Wyatt was surprised to find the results of the reflexology to be mostly physical, and not psychological. "We didn't get the change we might have expected with the emotional symptoms like anxiety and depression. The most significant changes were documented with their physical symptoms," said Wyatt.
Other unexpected results was the reduced tiredness experienced by the foot massage group, or the placebo group, especially since the reflexology group did not report similar findings. Wyatt is now researching if foot massage provides similar results as a simple and inexpensive option for cancer patients.

Azarenka Out of Dubai Championships

Victoria Azarenka just can't seem to get her season started.
First she had to withdraw from the Brisbane International competition because of a botched pedicure that caused a painful ingrown toenail. Now, she's withdrawing from the Dubai Championships because of a bone bruise on her right foot.
Azarenka, who was replaced by Serena Williams at No. 1 on Monday, said she hurt her foot a week ago in Doha, Qatar, en route to the final, where she beat Williams. She showed no signs of and did not mention the injury while playing in Doha, where she successful defended the title.
"I have been playing on it a lot over the last five days so going to a new tournament is too much to handle right now. It keeps getting worse. It was an unfortunate decision that I had to make, and I'm very disappointeed," said Azarenka.
She said she was headed to the United States to have the injury evaluated and plans on playing in Indian Wells, California. Azarenka indicated that part of her reason for withdrawing has to deal with playing two weeks in a row against the world's top players. On the schedule in Dubai is Williams, along with No. 4 Agnieszka Radwanska and No. 6 Angelique Kerber.
"Realizing that you play five days in a row against top players, sometimes is too much. You just try to play. And I tried, but my body says no. I cannot force it. I cannot put myself in a position to hurt myself. That would just be stupid," said Azarenka, who is being smart about her injury.
The Belarusian has won her last 12 matches, including her second Australia Open, but came under scrutiny at the Open for a lengthy medical timeout for what she said what a panic attack. It turned out to be breathing problems due to a rib injury.
Her withdrawal from Dubai ensures Williams keeps the No. 1 ranking for at least another week.

How To Pick Out Work Shoes

More than 50% of people spend a minimum of 4 hours a day on their feet at work, either by standing or walking around. This group of people includes those in the manufacturing and service sectors, which includes salespersons, industrial workers, cashiers and attendants at retail stores, and those in the hotel and hospitality workforce. Nurses, doctors, restaurant workers, and flight attendants are on their feet even longer, sometimes 8 to 12 hours a day. To complicate the footwear dilemma, many of these professions require work-specific shoes, giving workers few options for appropriate and comfortable shoes.
Many of our foot problems come from our work and shoe habits. Selecting the right shoes for how long you will be on your feet is crucial to keeping foot ailments at bay. No one wants to be out of work with an injury! Here are some things you should look for when selecting shoes for work:
Shoes with low heels. Completely flat shoes are not the best option when you are going to be standing on your feet all day, as most provide no arch support or structure. Your heels should be elevated by at least a quarter inch up to two inches to provide optimal arch support.
Shoes with a large toe box. Our feet swell during the day, so those pointy-toed shoes that you put on first thing in the morning are going to make your piggy toes squeal with pain by the end of the day. Shoes with a large toe box provide room for your feet to grow during the day. There should be enough wiggle room for your toes in the front.
Shoes with laces. Shoes with laces keep your feet from sliding forward when walking. Think of shoe laces like the seat belt in your car- they keep you from going anywhere you shouldn't!
Shoes with arch support. It's been mentioned already, but good arch support is crucial to how your feet will feel at the end of the day. Visit a shoe retailer that specializes in work shoes, and add an orthotic if need be.
Safety footwear. With new government regulations, employees taking employers to court over lapsed safety regulations, there has been a rise in safety footwear. Steel toe boots are designed for those on construction sites or industrial buildings, and keep the worker's feet safe from nails, concrete, bricks, heavy machinery, and other dangerous items in the workplace.
Women should keep away from stilettos and very high heels, as it makes working and moving difficult. You can blame it on marketing and advertising, which tempts women into making poor shoe choices for work. How often have we seen ads on television or in magazines where the female office worker is clad in stilettos, looking perfectly happy and content? Wonder how happy she is at the end of the day. Sensible shoes do a lot more to tone and shape your legs than uncomfortable sky high heels.
Making good work shoe selections early on in your life will make your feet happy later in life.

Port Adelaide Takes Another Hit

Nick Salter's career may be in jeopardy.
The Port Adelaide forward was considered lucky to have retained his spot on the Power's list after failing to play a single AFL game last season. After feeling pain in his "good" foot, the team announced that Salter has several stress fractures in his foot and will be out eight weeks rehabbing.
Port Adelaide football operations manager Peter Rohde said after the initial announcement, "He's been to a second specialist because his other foot has been getting sore. He's had some pain for a couple of weeks so we're waiting for a report so we can find out exactly what the problem is."
Salter, 25, played just five SANFL games last season after suffering stress fractures in the pre-season on the same foot he had surgery on in 2011. He has been placed on the long-term injury list.
"It's really disappointing for Salts given his history (with injury) at this early stage of the year, he can't get a run at it but the reality is that in elite sport setbacks will happen," Port director of coaching and strategy Alan Richardson told the team's website.
"He will just focus on his rehab and once match-fit he'll still have an opportunity to play a significant role for the team given he'll be back early in the season," Richardson said.
The Power has tried to turn Salter into a key defender, but he has played just 21 AFL games since debuting in 2008.

Power Flats Go From Work To Drinks

Powerful women have long felt they need to wear high heels as a sign of authority.
But women's feet get tired, and gender roles change in the workplace, and therefore high heels are getting thrown out the window in favor of power flats, a pointy, embellished, and highly chic option.
Christina Binkley of the Wall Street Journal wrote, "Long stuck in the purgatory of casual wear, flats are suddenly being promoted for polished occasions."
Flats that are appropriate for the boardroom are also sleek enough for an evening out.
The challenge for business women has always been the same: hobble after your male counterparts, over uneven pavement and sidewalks, trying to keep up with their long strides. Women have lugged around ginormous pocketbooks to carry walking shoes, so they can wear those stilettos during the important meeting. Or, like many, they spend an outlandish amount of money on cab rides because their feet just can't walk another inch after a day in those awful shoes.
The fashion trend of moving from stilettos to power flats for work is a sign of the times: women are busier, faster paced, and have more demanding lives than ever before, and their footwear needs to keep up with them. Luisa De Paula, Buying and Merchandising Director of MyWardrobe.com, explains, "Today's woman has an even busier lifestyle. Walking or even running to a meeting or to the school gates means practicality. It doesn't mean scrimping on style. It's a modern chic and very 60's look, which is key for next season."
And when you think of power flats, don't think of cutesy ballet flats. Power flats have pointy toes, metal caps, and embellishments like spikes, studs, and gemstones. Strong colors and fabric choices like snakeskin, tweet, and patent leather make these a working women's flat. Former First Lady of France, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, has long been an advocate of the power flat, a quintessential part of her wardrobe (pictured above).
Unsure how and what to wear them with? "Think of the way Carla Bruni-Sarkozy has worn them since marrying her much shorter husband, the former president of France," said Binkley. "Often with slim pants or a trim skirt or dress that elongates the body."
Be on the lookout for power flats to be all over the stores this spring- masculine Oxfords this fall opened the doors for power flats. At both Marc Jacobs and Giorgio Armani spring preview shows, power flats were paired with tailored suits and evening wear.
"We have seen a significant increase in sales of flat shoes against last season and what we term the 'statement flat',"  said De Paula. "Key sellers have been glitter, studded, and patent styles by Marc by Marc Jacobs, Lucy Choi, Sam Edelman, and Red Valentino."

    Florida's Murphy Has "Tweaked" Ankle

Florida basketball has had a terrible time staying healthy this season, with all of their seven most used players sustaining one injury or another. Yet they have still managed a Top 10 ranking and are No. 1 in the SEC standings.
Erik Murphy has seen his fair share of injuries this season, sustaining broken ribs in the game against Air Force, and now he sprained his ankle against Mississippi State on Saturday. With just five minutes left to go in Florida's victory over the Bulldogs, he limped off the court during play and went to the locker room to be evaluated.
The team is saying that Murphy is "fine"; he played in Tuesday night's win over No. 25 Kentucky, scoring 10 points. But as we've seen in the past, simple sprains, bumps, bruises, and stress fractures can turn into something more serious, especially with a national title on the line.
Murphy sat out what was to be his homecoming game of sorts against Yale (Murphy is a Rhode Island native) with the broken ribs, an injury that was not announced until eight days after it occurred. If the team is keeping mum about injuries like this, who is to know how serious Murphy's "tweaked" ankle really is. The team is already without Will Yeguette, who had season ending knee surgery several weeks ago.
    We'll see how things progress.

Lady Gaga Cancels Concerts, Suffering From Synovitis

Lady Gaga announced Tuesday that she was cancelling three tour dates due to a condition called synovitis
Gaga's fans are very dedicated to the singer, and she to them, so cancelling concerts was not a task done lightly. She tweeted, "I hardly know what to say. I've been hiding a show injury and chronic pain for sometime now, over the past month it has worsened. I've been praying it would heal. I hid it from my staff, I didn't want to disappoint my amazing fans. However after last night's performance I could not walk and still can't."
Gaga is under doctor's orders to cancel concerts in Chicago, Detroit, and Hamilton, Ontario. "I am completely devastated and heartsick. To the fans in Chicago, Detroit, and Hamilton, I hope you can forgive me as it is nearly impossible for me to forgive myself right now. I would do anything for you. I will hopefully heal as soon as possible and be at 500% again, which is what you deserve," she said.
So what exactly is synovitis? We're not sure if Lady Gaga is suffering from synotivis in the feet or ankles, but it is a condition that does affect those areas. Typically synovitis is associated with arthritis or gout, but as in Gaga's case, it can be caused by overuse or trauma. Symptoms include redness, swelling, warmth, and pain with joint motion.
If you are experiencing any of these symptoms in your feet or ankles, seek evaluation from a podiatrist immediately, who will confirm the diagnosis and rule out other possible conditions, like a fracture or infection. The podiatrist may take a fluid sample from the affected area to analyze it for inflammatory cells or order x-rays.
Treatment, fortunately for Lady Gaga, is quite simple. It includes rest, ice, immobilization, and oral anti-inflammatory drugs, like ibuprofen, and may also include steroid injections in the joint. In longstanding cases, surgery may be required.
Put on your best poker face, Gaga!

Keep Feet Healthy During Cold Weather

Perhaps even more than the summertime, wintertime is especially rough on our feet. Humidity drops and temperatures grow harsh, making our feet dry, cracked, achy, and prone to infection. Keeping your feet healthy and happy during the winter means less work getting them spring and summertime ready.
Step 1: Moisturize to prevent infection.
Taking warms baths and showers after spending time in the cold air can cause feet to become dry, which leads to cracking skin. Your skin is the first line of defense against infection, and just like cracks in the foundation of your house, cracks in your feet allow unwanted guests to infiltrate your body.
Stay away from moisturizers that are fragrance-filled or frilly, as they further dry your skin out. Look instead for lotion that contains water, glycerin, which keeps moisture in, and allantoin, which breaks down the rough barrier, allowing water to get into the skin. All of these ingredients help the skin heal itself. You will find the best moisturizers not in the beauty aisle, but in the health aisle or home improvement store. Men who are on their feet all day use O'Keefe's for Healthy Feet, which was designed to stimulate the skin's natural healing process by retaining moisture to hydrate the skin, altering pH levels, and increasing blood circulation.
Step 2: Protection from the elements
Going outside, even to quickly bring the garbage out to the curb, means exposure to bone-chilling winds, icy rain, and blowing snow. Brr! Choosing the right protective gear keeps feet healthy.
Invest in a good pair of boots that keep your feet warm. Fashionable boots don't mean they will keep your feet warm- they are more likely to cause you to slip on icy walkways and in parking lots. Boots should be waterproof to keep out rain and snow, and have a good sole with thick treads to help grip slippery surfaces. Wear your winter boots to work, and then change into work shoes. Consider wearing several pairs of socks to insulate feet and keep moisture away.
    Step 3: Understand frostbite.
Skin exposed to extremely cold temperatures for prolonged periods can get frost bite. Even when wearing thick socks and boots, moisture present in skin cells and tissues freezes. Frost bite can happen quickly, especially when skin is directly exposed to the cold, and there are varying levels of severeness.
Frost bite symptoms include numbness, pins and needles sensations, hard, pale skin when cold and red, and painful or blistered skin after warmed. If you suspect you have frost bite, never put feet in hot water, always warm water between 104 to 107.6 degrees F to gradually warm skin. If the symptoms continue after soaking in warm water, call a podiatrist immediately.

      What Are Periungual Warts?

The Human Papilloma Virus has over 100 identified strains, some of which are warts. The HPV causes warts which are named for where they appear on the body and what they look like. People with healthy and strong immune systems aren't prone to warts, but those with a compromised or low immune system do. Most warts are contagious and can be painful. The Periungual wart is one of the warts that is caused by HPV.
A Periungual wart is an abnormal growth that starts out the size of a pinhead. In the beginning they are
difficult to notice and are so smooth people don't often notice them. As the weeks progress, the wart grows to the size of a pea with rough irregular bumps that start to affect nail growth. In extreme cases the nail will become permanently deformed and fall off. If left untreated, it will move down the nail bed and cause an infection.
Periungual warts typically form under the fingernails and toenails and are not easily spotted. Untreated warts become painful and the larger they become the more painful they will be. Eventually the nail will elevate and detach from the nail bed completely.
Periungual warts are contracted like any other HPV- through cuts, scrapes, and abrasions, and when people pick or tear at the skin around their nails. They are also contracted by contact with those who have the condition.
Symptoms of periungual warts include a cauliflower appearance, which spread quickly and in clusters surrounding the nails, or under the nail bed. You will see the small rough bumps, which will become painful when left untreated.
Treatment of periungual warts may include excision, which may require removal of the toenail. Salicylic acid, or chemical destruction, may be used topically to remove the warts.
To prevent periungual warts, start with not picking or tearing at the skin around your toenails and the nail itself. This is the leading entrance way for HPV for this disease. If you know someone with periungual warts, you should keep away from skin to skin contact. If you already have periungual warts, do not pick or tear at the skin or nails, as it will make the condition worse.

Nothing To Sing About: Demi Lovato Injures Foot

"Give Your Heart A Break" Demi Lovato will now be singing "Give My Foot A Break" after falling in her house on January 27th.
She tweeted pictures of her badly bruised ankle, saying "Never, ever, ever, EVER let your roommate clean hardwood floors with Pledge..."
Lovato has been staying in a sober living house in Los Angeles since coming out of rehab for anorexia, bulemia, cutting, and bipolar disorder. She tweeted the day the incident occurred, "Needless to say, today was eventful. Hahahahaha." Later in the week, she tweeted, "Fibula schmibula."
The singer has fractured her right leg, is on crutches and has her leg in a cast, but it is unknown how long that will be.
Lovato is still confirmed to perform at Universal Studios in Orlando for a Mardi Gras concert on March 6, 2013. She hasn't announced if she will return as a judge on "The X-Factor" in 2013.

Tips For Cleaning Shoes and Boots

When you see someone with dirty shoes, what do you think of that person? We judge people by so many different factors, and the condition of a person's shoes is sometimes one of them. Cleaning a pair of shoes that are still have some life left in them can revitalize your wardrobe and what others think of you. Here's what you can do to clean up your shoes.
Remove toe marks from open toe shoes. Wet half of a good microfiber cloth specific for this purpose with warm water. Wring it out very well and start rubbing the toe marks up and down and then side to side. Continue the rubbing until the marks disappear. If the lining of the shoes are suede, use a suede brush or nail brush to brush the nap and reset it. Dry shoes, out of the sun. Try to remove the marks before they are severe.
Fabric shoes and boots. Fabric shoes can be cleaned with a Soot and Dirt Remover Sponge, available at Amazon. Use the sponge like an eraser over the fabric. Since this will probably get messy, do this step outside. If there are still marks after using the sponge, use the microfiber cloth the same way you did for the open toed shoes.
Suede leather boots and shoes. Using a suede brush, work against the grain first and reset the nap by brushing in the right direction. For a mark that won't come out, dip a cloth in undiluted white vinegar and gently rub. Test this first on an inconspicuous spot first. Make sure not to over wet the shoes and let them dry completely.
Leather shoes. Dove moisturizing bar soap will keep leather clean and conditioned. When leather gets scuffed, polish shoes with the coordinating color polish.
Unusual colored shoes. There are shoe colors that you will never find a coordinating polish. Try Leather CPR, which treats all color leather and cleans and conditions. Shoes can also be washed with a damp cloth and the Dove moisturizing bar soap.
Kiwi Express Shine (neutral). This is an instant shine sponge that will freshen up shoes with a quick swab. Glide the sponge over the shoe, which should now look shiny and bright. Don't forget to wash off excess dirt first.
Stinky shoes? Try Odrozout, which is a natural odor eliminator. Sprinkle in your shoes when you take them off and leave it in until you wear them again. Shake shoes outside or over the toilet to remove excess powder.

          Foot Grooming For Men

Even if you don't think grooming your feet is an important thing, the woman in your life probably does. Here's how to take care of your feet:
          1. Pay attention to your socks. Men are notorious for their stinky, sweaty feet, and a lot of that has to do with the socks they wear. Stay away from nylon and white socks and look for high-quality cotton or cashmere socks, which breathe better.
          2. Creams alone don't cut it. Got Athlete's Foot? Over-the-counter creams won't get rid of this fungus. If you find that you're in a continuous cycle of kicking Athlete's Foot and getting it again, then it's how you're taking care of your feet. During your shower, wash your feet with your soap. Pat them dry with a towel and apply a thick lotion containing peppermint or eucalyptus, both of which kill fungus, another reason why your feet smell so bad. When you exfoliate (you're exfoliating, right?) make sure you hit up your feet as well.
          3. Get the right tools. Toenails grow slower than fingernails and only need to be cut every two or three weeks. Invest in a good pair of clippers and a cuticle pusher, to help ward off fungus.
          4. Don't want to do it yourself?... Get a pedicure! Go to a man-friendly salon and have a strong-handed woman give you a foot massage and clean up your feet. Thinking it's not manly? Think about this: women notice feet, and rubbing scaly heels against her smooth legs isn't going to get anyone in the mood.
Men's feet need an intervention. If you're like most men, you wear the same clammy shoes and socks every day. You probably shower at the gym too, which is like the salad bar at Ruby Tuesday's for the fungus on your feet- a free for all! When at the gym shower, wear flip-flops. Athlete's foot can be cured with prescriptions, but consider getting an antifungal spray for your shoes-  fungus can still linger in your shoes, waiting to reinfect you. Yuck.
Ingrown toenails are common, especially when they're a result of a heavy hand with the clippers. Cut your toenails straight across, and don't pick at them, which causes tears and infections.
